rube goldberg

the ISU for physics.. though it did not match with what ISU stands for : 'Independent Study Unit'. Well, maybe the group itself must be independent. So, it kinds of match. Ok, after me gathering all, well most of the main material; 60cmx60cm wooden plank, the nails, hammers, etc., my team are ready to start our Rube Goldberg project. To those who had no idea what on earth is this 'Rube Goldberg' thing, Wikipedia it!! Erm.. forgot to list down my team members.. here it is;

- Mohd Fathuddin (noname)
- Mohd Aminuddin (mamu/mamak)
- Mohd Faez (belang)
- Mohd Ikhwan (ikki)

Hmm.. to simplify, there are all my housemates, which will surely lighten the work. Last saturday night, Faez belang, mamu n I start the project.. Ikki had to go home, as his dad missed him so much that he cannot even let his son stay for one more day at casa.. Hahaha, kidding.. well, his dad had come over to pick him up.. so, Ikki had to leave, with or without our permission.. heheh~ Ermm, back to business, that night, we managed to done 4 out of 20 steps required.. At the first attempt to joint the two piece of wood perpendicularly, we failed.. I thought by just nailed them up at several spots, it will hold on. But, i'm totally wrong.. So, mamu n I had to go to the NEAREST Mydin to buy two brackets.. Only after that, the two stands up straight as the guard standing in front of the National Castle; does not move an inch.. I am hoping by the time i went home on Monday, we'll managed to finish up until 5 steps.. But, we cannot.. as soon as faez brought his Kancil car, the distraction was almost unbearable.. so, i think the 4 is enough for now.. because i think most of the other team had not even had their own material ready.. heheh~

erm.. i thought of posting the latest pics of our rube goldberg, but my connection here at home was very slow that i decided to upload them at casa later, if i remember =) so for now, just a rube goldberg cartoon..

ASME HPV East 2013: Log 5 - Good Ending

We're now on the way back to Toronto, after the Banquet Ceremony at Ferris. The only event today was the Endurance Race, where bike-utilitiness was tested. Whether the bike can go across a S-turn, hairpin turn, downhill, uphill, stop at stop sign, bumps, etc. The new thing the organizer put in this year was that each team must take in and put out a grocery bag (with groceries inside) to a station for 3 sets. Anyway, UofT team did very well in the event. We were a bit slow during the obstacles, but since we have three wheels, there's no need for any of the other team member to be along the course of the Endurance, helping to get the bike up. Well, we didnt actually allowed to do that, as it was against the rules (which was different last year). We get the 1st Place for the Endurance event, with 4 more laps than Missouri M&T and Rose Hulman. The final prize and other prizes were given during Banquet. We got 3rd in Men's Drag, 3rd in Women's Drag, 1...
