UK Trip : Log 11 - Edin-bur-(r)gh

Yupp, the corect pronounciation is 'e-din-bur-rgh'.. Not a big deal, but its helpful when you're asking something or just have a chat with the local people..


Edinburgh is just magnificient.. It has the mixture and balance between its old 'Bath'-like buildings and its atmosphere.. Bath is more to ancient alien.. But here in Edinburgh, you can enjoy your walk, walking around Edinburgh Castle, hiking to Arthur's Seat..





Edinburgh also has a mosque; a real one, with its minaraque (excuse my spelling).. A lovely mosque with its own restaurant called "The Original Mosque Kitchen & Cafe"..

Speaking of Arthur's Seat, there this hill or should I say small mountain called Arthur's Seat, which lies the highest point at Edinburgh; around 250.9m high from sea level.. Yeah, I know; it's not that high, but being that we're walking from afternoon and start hiking up around 8pm, with the combination of rocky and winding ground; it does gave a little challenge..



By 10:30 pm (I know, it's late), we reached the top.. Quite a view from the top, though there's wasn't any orange glow of sunset to see cause yesterday was a bit cloudy.. Still, there's this feeling of accomplishment having conquered it..
After some groceries shopping later, we went home, sleep..

And today, after some great and big breakfast, we are now at Edinburgh Airport; boarding RyanAir en route to Dublin..

ASME HPV East 2013: Log 5 - Good Ending

We're now on the way back to Toronto, after the Banquet Ceremony at Ferris. The only event today was the Endurance Race, where bike-utilitiness was tested. Whether the bike can go across a S-turn, hairpin turn, downhill, uphill, stop at stop sign, bumps, etc. The new thing the organizer put in this year was that each team must take in and put out a grocery bag (with groceries inside) to a station for 3 sets. Anyway, UofT team did very well in the event. We were a bit slow during the obstacles, but since we have three wheels, there's no need for any of the other team member to be along the course of the Endurance, helping to get the bike up. Well, we didnt actually allowed to do that, as it was against the rules (which was different last year). We get the 1st Place for the Endurance event, with 4 more laps than Missouri M&T and Rose Hulman. The final prize and other prizes were given during Banquet. We got 3rd in Men's Drag, 3rd in Women's Drag, 1...
