US Trip : Log 5 - DC's Huge

Well, I underestimated DC. Now, it has taken its toll on me. DC is actually quite large. I thought I'll manage without the Metro, but I really can't. Even with the Day Pass, I can still feel my legs being exhausted of walking.

All because the lack Metro subway line near Lincoln Memorial. And it's quite a walk to get there from Smithtonian stop.




Now I know how the top monument is located. The centre being Washington Monument, with left and right being US Capitol and Lincoln Monument. Bottom and above are White House and Jefferson Memorial.




And because USA has a lot of president, and lots of history, to finish just two levels of National Museum of History resulted the leg didn't feel like one. It's a good thing that not all the Presidents has their monument. Even if R.Reagan and J.F.Kennedy had one each, then I'll regret going here without a car.



That's the Muppets being displayed at National Museum of History.

I missed the free HI Hostel tour. Aaargh!!! Blew my chances.

ASME HPV East 2013: Log 5 - Good Ending

We're now on the way back to Toronto, after the Banquet Ceremony at Ferris. The only event today was the Endurance Race, where bike-utilitiness was tested. Whether the bike can go across a S-turn, hairpin turn, downhill, uphill, stop at stop sign, bumps, etc. The new thing the organizer put in this year was that each team must take in and put out a grocery bag (with groceries inside) to a station for 3 sets. Anyway, UofT team did very well in the event. We were a bit slow during the obstacles, but since we have three wheels, there's no need for any of the other team member to be along the course of the Endurance, helping to get the bike up. Well, we didnt actually allowed to do that, as it was against the rules (which was different last year). We get the 1st Place for the Endurance event, with 4 more laps than Missouri M&T and Rose Hulman. The final prize and other prizes were given during Banquet. We got 3rd in Men's Drag, 3rd in Women's Drag, 1...
